Water Soluble Mandrel Materials
Water Soluble Mandrel Materials are utilized to fabricate hallow and seamless composite structures with trapped configurations, such as:

How it works:
Customer sends an existing casting tool, CAD file, or composite part.Soltec casts a mandel, provides a 3D mandrel print and fabricates a casting tool to cast a mandrel, or re-engineers the part to produce a CAD file in order to design and fabricate a tool and to cast a mandrel.
Customer produces a composite part:
- Pre-preg, RTM, VARTM (up to 500F)
- Autoclave up to 100psi,
- Trim composite part on mandrel
- Washout mandrel with pressure washer (for faster results soak mandrel for a couple hours)
- SOLTEC offers enclosed pressurized washout station to our customers
- Customer could send composite part with mandrel to SOLTEC
- SOLTEC to wash out the mandrel material
- Send finished composite part back to customer
Solcore 3D is a derivation of Solcore 100 material, which has been optimized to perform on a rapid prototyping platform. Utilizing only solid CAD data, direct soluble shapes are readily produced and able to perform at advanced composite processing conditions.

Ready to be used as layup tool for Thermoplastic materials or high temperature thermoset plastics such as Cyanate Esters or BMI resin systems.

TecShape is a low density water removable ceramic based tooling material, capable of producing very large shapes. Furthermore, it can be machined. TecShape is designed to be compatible with all composite materials and allows the fabrication of the most difficult composite projects. Post process removal of the mandrel is possible with simple low pressure water.

Self Expandable Films, Tapes, and Coatings
Utilized to fabricate composite parts by generating pressure at an elevated temperature at the location needed (out of autoclave) or as:
- Pressure intensifier,
- Metal to composite bonding
TecFilm is a thin, flexible material that can be utilized to apply either focused pressure to difficult to press areas or entire surfaces which are processed between 280°F and 1300°F. It readily consolidates high temperature thermoplastics such as PEEK, PEKK, PEI, Teflon, PPS or other high performance polymers.
Complex Thermoplastic Parts
SOLTEC has a large 48”X48” Thermoforming Machine with upper and lower ramp as well as with upper and lower IR-heater. Besides existing customer tools, SOLTEC designs, develops and fabricates in house tooling for thermoforming applications. SOLTEC is specialized in the fabrication of low smoke – flame retardant PVC/ABS thermoformed parts.
